Hi Everyone. This weekend I was chatting with my daughter Cassidy. She was on her top bunk and I was lying on the bottom bunk. Out of no where, she drops her phone and WHACK!, smacks me right in the eye. I saw stars for about 20 minutes. I actually cried. Of course, Cassidy was crying too, but I couldn't even talk to her to tell her it was ok. I got up when I could breathe again and looked in the mirror. My eye was already purple and swollen shut. I couldn't go to work, so I got someone to work for me. I would've been a pretty scary flight attendant. I'm wearing glasses in public, cause I look like I was in a serious brawl. I took a picture today. The swelling has gone way down, I can actually see out of it, but it still looks pretty bad. I posted a picture of it. It was taken with my cell phone camera and it doesn't give the lovely rainbow of colors justice. Now I thought I need a good story for my injury so I'm asking my blog readers to help me out. Just for fun. Maybe running of the bulls in Madrid? Let me hear your ideas.

Sorry Blogville, I just have to talk about face3book again. I am so happy to see and hear all my "old" (just kidding) friends and my too far away family's thoughts and photos. Some people I haven't heard from since after highschool graduation, some a couple of years or months, but nevertheless, I love it! It brings back soo many good memories for me and some that make me say,"what were we thinking"? My high school years were fun and make me laugh as I look back on them. Like when I let Betsy Bailey cut my hair soo short and spikey right before I got my drivers license photo taken; or when Kali Campbell And Laura Lenoir were determined to "help" me pass trig (I had no business in that class). I passed thanks to a group effort. Also when Holly Tindal drove my little chevette like the Dukes of Hazzard trying to get up enough speed to jump a railroad track.(It was a diesel, didn't go over 50).One time Angie Harmon,who I carpooled with, said she had to write a report on embarrassing moments and she said "I don't have any". Guess what! That day we stopped at Mr. Bunky's(local store) and while we were in line to check out, I grabbed her big skirt and yanked it up over her head. Hahaahaa. I laughed so hard, but boy she was sooo mad and took her high heel off and whacked me over the head with it. Sorry Ang, it's still funny.Oh my gosh, I could go on all day, but don't worry, I won't. If any of you have a funny memory ,please comment and let me know.

Hey People, Oh my goodness. My mother e-mailed me last week and asked me to be her friend on facebook. Now, both of my kids have a facebook and it never occured to me to have one myself. I thought I'd humor my mom 'cause she's old. Just kidding mom! I signed on after a few days and within 30 minutes,3 people from my highschool were talking to me through facebook. How cool is that.It's been almost a week and I can't get enough. Sorry kids no time to cook dinner, you're on your own. No seriously, this FB thing is addicting. I have talked to about 20 people I haven't talked to in years, it's amazing!If you don't have one,try it for yourself, but try to make dinner first.

Hola Friends, I has been a while since my last blog. I just have been caught up running the girls around, celebrating holidays, and just living life. I hope all is well with everyone and you all had wonderful holidays. Alot has happenend since I last blogged, nothing extaordinary, but it's been a while. Daniella turned 15!!! She is now a freshman in high school!I can't bellieve I have a kid old enough to drive. She has not gotten her permit yet, we were waiting on a report card. Now, we just have to take the time to do it. Cassidy started diving in September at the Ft. Lauderdale Swimming Hall of Fame. We watched diving on the olympics and my daredevil Cass thought it looked like fun. She loves it and is actually quite good at it. I have to say it makes me a little nervous to watch her as she advances up the platform heights. Well, that's it for now. I will try harder to keep up on my blog now. Talk to you soon. Hey Everybody, Long time since I blogged last. June was a crazy month for me. The kids were extremely busy, so that means so was I. Cassidy went to camp with our church. She also had a birthday. She turned 12. I took some of her friends to Rapids waterpark in West Palm Beach. I think everyone had fun. Both girls are still dancing. They had their Showcase for Hip Hop Kidz on June 2nd. Then Daniella and I went to Club Med again with some of the Cast Kidz for a weekend so they could perform there, like they do every year. It was a blast as usual. Cass was in camp so she couldn't go.I got to see my "old" neighbor,just kidding Georgette, while I was there because she lives close by now. We had to leave from there to go to rehearsal for some music videos with their new dance group. They shot the music videos last weekend. I was warned by other moms that it would creep into the wee hours of the morning and they were right. We got to the studios, which were about an hour away, about 8:30am Sat morning and got home that night at 2:30am, yes I said a.m.. We slept a couple of hours and was on the road again about 7:45am Sun. Morning,that night we got home at 3:45a.m., which was just in time for me to shower and be at work at 6:00a.m.,went to Washington DC and back and home again to run Daniella to the orthodontist. I can tell I'm getting older, by the way I turned 41 in June also, because that lack of sleep that weekend just about killed me. We all had fun though and I think the kids learned some things about the entertainment business. I took lots of pics and some video which I will try to put up soon. I've had a couple of days to regroup now and I'm feeling much, much better.

One of the guys that was in Hip Hop with Daniella a few years back is now on So You Think You Can Dance. His name is Brandon, but the kids call him Sport. He already won Star Search a few years ago doing ballet. He is an amazing dancer and a really nice guy. Check out his audition video and if you watch, cheer him on.

Hi Everyone, Sorry I was away for awhile. The kids are keeping me running. Great news! Brianna's adoption went through yesterday, May 28. I went with her Grandparents to the court house and got to witness the incredible event. For those of you who don't know Brianna, she is my Goddaughter and my neighbor. Her Grandparents live next door to me and have had her since birth. They are the one's that adopted her yesterday. She turned 2 last month and is truly a miracle baby. She weighed less than a pound when she was born and had some other major issues. Now, she's fine and truly a blessing to all who know her. Check out these photo's from yesterday.

STEWARDESS OBSERVATION #4

Hello Everyone, It's been a while since my last stewardess observation, so I thought I'd enlighten you with a few travel trips, just in case you actually get on a plane without your flight cancelling. Travel tip # 1- bring your own bottle of water. Most airlines don't give individual bottles of water out and you may get thirsty before I lug that cart out in the aisle. You can't buy it until you get inside security though, they'll take it at security,sorry no refund.
Travel Tip # 2- if at all possible eat before you get on the plane or bring food on board because there is usually little or no food on the plane. If you're delayed for any reason you might starve. If you have kids -BRING SNACKS--
Travel Tip # 3- If your bag is too heavy to lift yourself or will not fit in the overhead bin-It is NOT considered carry on- Check It- No you can't hold your 50 lb. bag on your lap.
Travel Tip # 4- Most planes show some kind of video- bring your own headphones and watch it for free instead of paying $2 for a pair.
Travel Tip #5- When the beverage cart finally comes up the aisle, right before you die of dehydration because you didn't follow tip # 1, keep all body parts out of the aisle. Those carts are very heavy and don't always cooperate when trying to push them straight up the aisle. I've mowed over more feet and whacked more elbows than I care to mention.
Travel Tip # 6- WEAR SHOES IN THE BATHROOM !!- O.K. people ,we know this is a public restroom and not all of us are neat and tidy, especially during turbulence. Please wear shoes and have your kids wear shoes in these restrooms--I don't think this needs too detailed information-just use your imagination. yuck!

My daughters are awesome. They are unique with their own personalities. Daniella, my resident Fashion AND Drama Queen. She's hip and still a loving and caring, Christian girl. Cassidy, my hyper, funny, silly, comedian. She is a sweet, warm hearted, Christian girl. You know it's hard to be a kid now. There's many more outside influences kids are exposed to everyday, like it or not, than there used to be. You just have to teach them true values and beliefs and pray that they make correct choices. I know they will stumble and make mistakes but it's my job to make sure they know that I still love them and help them make the right choice next time. I am blessed that my girls are strong in their faith and have a lot of positive influences. But, I am the Mom and I worry and worry some more. Hi Everyone, -Once again Pastor Troy's teaching this weekend was awesome. If you haven't taken the plunge to accept Christ and be baptized, I encourage you to just watch one of Troy's teachings online. There is still time today or just check out last week's teaching at http://www.flamingoroadchurch.com/ . No pressure just sit back , relax, and enjoy the teaching. I want to say that I am moved by every teaching at church , one I want to talk about is called God Favors. Pastor Troy did not teach this one, but it was a light bulb moment nevertheless. It was taught by Heather Palacios(http://www.heatherpalacios.com/), who is on staff a FRC. She just spoke about the little things that happen everyday in our lives that most people would call luck. Like when you just miss an accident on the road and you think if I hadn't had to turn around and go back for my cell phone at home, I would have been in that accident. That my friends is a God favor. Another one that Heather used is standing in line at Starbucks with your 2 kids and you're running late and someone says "go ahead of me". That's a God favor. We all have God favors in our lives whether we realize it or not. I feel blessed to be able to recognize mine and be thankful. So, next time someone let's you cut in line or you feel you are in the right place at the right time, say thanks. Heather if you're reading this Thank You, because hearing that teaching was a God Favor. :)

We Made It!

Freezing and wet--It's winter there.

Has anyone out there got to go Zorbing? If you watched the Today Show you might have seen the anchors give it a try. They even have it on some truck commercial. That is what made me think of writing this. It has been a couple of years since we have done this, never the less, it's worth mentioning. My kids actually got to do it where it originated, in New Zealand. They had a blast. You could Zorb "wet", where they pour warm water into the Zorb then sling you down the side of a small mountain and you slip and slide inside the Zorb all the way down. My girls went inside the Zorb together with their friend Emily and the 3 of them slid down together. Miraculously, no one was injured and they loved it. Their friend Tim went down the mountain "dry" , where they strap you inside and you go head over heels down. You can go straight down or on a zig zag pathway. The owner said he was trying to get it over to the U.S., probably 1st to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I think there might be one there by now. If you ever get a chance to Zorb or if you have Zorbed before, let me know what you thought about it. Check it out at www.zorb.com .

You Go Cass!!

We had another busy weekend, but also had a lot of fun. The kids both had 2 dance performances each, Fri. and Sat.. After Sat. nights performance we took some of the kids roller skating at a local arcade and amusement center. They had "old school " roller skates, not roller blades, and the kids were a little freaked out by that. They had a great time though. Sunday morning was the new time change and church. I hope some of you got to watch it online because it rocked. It was incredible. Don't forget to watch next weekend, I promise you won't be disappointed. The girls invited some of their dance friends to church and then after I took 11 church and dance kids the ice skating rink. They looked like circus clowns getting out of the car. More kids met us there where we hung out until it was time for church again. everyone had a great time. You know the kids are growing up soo fast, I really love hanging out with them and their friends and what's better is they don't mind having me around , most of the time anyway. :)

I briefly mentioned before that Cassidy had an internship. Well , at her school they have a week off and they have to find a "job" in the community. If they can't find one, the school will place them somewhere. It's a great program for the kids to learn responsibility and what is like to have a real job. Our neighbor helped us out and got Cass a "job" at a local pet store. Cass loved it. She cleaned and took care of the little puppies. She did such a great job the owners said she could come back a couple of times a week to help out if she wants. We haven't been in this school long, only since Jan., but it is amazing. It's a Montessori school and the kids are taught responsibility, Independence, a big sense of community, and how to be an all around good person.

As you can see we are big animal lovers at our house. Cassidy has wanted to be a vet since she could talk. Sometimes animal trainer/vet/missionary animal trainer. We have had alot pass on also : a tortoise named Flash (after big money and IV drip to save him). 2 rabbits , 1 chameleon named John John,2 hamsters (1 that had eye surgery to save it after fight), a parrot (Lola I), 2 turtles, Skipperdy and Bob, that ran away( they actually did), and a kitty named Baby. What are some of your pets, past or present? Send me a pic and I'll post it.

Today the kids both had dance performances at the walk for animals in Ft. Lauderdale. There were hundreds, maybe thousands of dogs there. The kids danced and played with lots of cute dogs and we were home by 10:30am. Now it's off to Cassidy's internship at the local pet store(i'll tell you about that later), a hip hop workshop to learn new dances, and then church.

This is how we spent part of our Presidents day. While you people further up north were sitting by the fireplace, sipping hot chocolate, we were riding bikes on the beach boardwalk with our friends the Shashaty's and Daniella's friend Kaitlyn. After the bike ride the kids went for a quick swim in the ocean and we followed it up with some ice cream. You gotta love South Florida's winters.

We went to see the Hannah Montana movie last night. It was a good movie and the girls loved seeing the Jonas Bros. make an appearance. 14 people from church. 11 kids, 3 adults. The older boys (i won't name anyone, but see photo above) weren't very excited to say the least and sat away from the rest of us and hid. After the movie we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and finished off with a trip to Gameworks. Another fun night ! Thank you Kathy Shashaty for another great night with the kids.

Happy belated Valentines Day! How was everyone's Valentines Day? I worked, but was home that night. My kids both had dances to go to. Daniella went to the Shashaty's that night for a dance party. Hi Everyone, Sorry i've been gone so long. Alot has happened since my last post. Christmas was great; both my parents came to stay with me. My mom stayed for a month and my dad stayed just for a couple of days . Our church had Christmas Express where people brought toys to give to families that needed help at Christmas time. The great thing was the church set up a "store" and brought the moms in (some dads) and let them shop for their kids. Then they got to take the presents home ,wrapped and everything , and put them under the tree so they could be the gift giver instead of the church. My girls decided to use the money they had been saving and they also raised more money by selling coffee and doughnuts at my neighborhood garage sale and bought gifts for the kids in need. I'm soo proud of them.

CRAZY VAN RIDE :)

Hi Everyone. Last weekend we got to go to an awesome outdoor christian music concert, thanks to our friends the Shashatys. They were kind enough to give us tickets along with 19 other kids. They rented a huge van and Guy Shashaty drove us all to the concert. It was a blast, as always the kids had so much fun spending time together. For those of you that don't go to our church, Guy Shashaty is a pastor there and his wife Kathy leads the kids Praise Team. The tickets were for a grassy hill at the amphitheater and the kids loved being able to run around while the different bands played. We brought lawn chairs and towels to sit on. It was a gorgeous day, not hot, that turned into a beautiful night. Kathy brought glow sticks and necklaces for all the kids and they had a blast running around in the dark. As the pics show the van ride itself was interesting as you can imagine.

Ladies and gentleman please TURN OFF and stow ALL electronic devices at this time. This includes cell phones, ipods, laptops, gameboys, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries....OK for those of you who fly frequently, you know where I'm going with this. It doesn't seem that complicated but believe it or not it is. When this P.A. is made maybe a handful of people at the very most listen. I don't know why because we don't say "Everyone but the passengers in row 12 and the guy in 23c need to turn off your electronic devices." Or "everyone that doesn't know how to correctly use an ipod, needs to switch t off for takeoff." Some people are sneaky and act like they are turning it off and when the flight attendant walks by they take it out again. Newsflash--we know you have it on, but we get tired of asking people to listen to directions. Sometimes I feel like I'm on a plane load of 2 year olds. I've actually had a flight circle for an hour because the signal from someone's cell phone was reeking havoc on some cockpit equipment. I've also had a guy that kept sneaking his cell phone before takeoff and wouldn't put it away. The pilot came over the pa with this:" Ladies and gentlemen I was going to tell you that we were going to be on time today ,maybe a little early , but now it seems we will be late. It seems the man in 16f thinks he's on a private jet and doesn't want to end his phone call. I'm asking everyone to encourage him to turn his phone off and give it to the flight attendant or we have to go back to the gate to take him off the plane." Guess what? People really "encouraged " him to turn his phone off. Most planes now are sophisticated when it comes to their cockpit equipment and it doesn't bother it at all, but I say at 36,000 feet, why take a chance? The airlines are now toying with the idea that they will equip the planes with the proper equipment so that cell phones work in the air. Personally, I say bad idea. The arguments I think this will cause will be plentiful. Can you imagine sitting next to a person whose phone keeps ringing and is talking loudly because hi signal is fading? What do you think about this idea?

We had Trunk or Treat at our house this year instead of at church. I was all ready with my tons of candy (I had the good stuff too- Snicker bars and Reeses cups). As my fellow South Floridians know, it was extremely windy because of Hurriane Noel. Alot of my decorations blew down the street , so I had almost nothing left. At about 5:00 I went ouside to turn my Halloween lights on. They were on about 5 minutes and bam! No power! My entire side of the street went out. I didn't sweat it because I figured they be back on in a few minutes. Guess what-- that didn't happen. FPL came about 6 and parked 3 big trucks right in front of my house. No one could really see us sitting in the driveway trying to hand out candy and then it got dark and it was very dark with no power. I was yelling -Come and Get Your Free Candy! Believe it or not, I had alot of people. I handed out alot of Flamingo Road Church cards and even got some people to say they would come and try it out. God held off the rain for us just long enough to pass out ALL my candy and ALL my FRC cards. Daniella didn't want to go this year so she hung out with me at home, while Cassidy(the alien) went with her dad(the other alien) around our block with some kids from the neighborhood. SEATBELT SIGN 101

O.K. You're on a plane. Ding. The seat belt sign comes on. What does this mean to you? What? Get up and walk around, go to the bathroom, ask for water ? If you anyone of these was your answer then you agree with about 75% of the flying public. I don't get it people. SIT DOWN-FASTEN SEATBELT. It seems that people think that they can get up "I'll be quick."; they say. You only had 3 hours to get up ; definitely not enough time to go to the bathroom. Or could you be thinking "that's for everyone that doesn't know how to balance in the bathroom." Or, - "I'm not scared of a little turbulence." Well , take it from me people, it can happen when you least expect it-SEVERE turbulence. The seatbelt sign came on and about 15 seconds later I hit the ceiling 3 times -out cold. Babies were flying(which is another observation I will get to later), luggage was flying and everything that wasn't strapped in was hovering in the air. I was out of work 1 year and 9 months with injuries to my back and neck. So when that seat belt sign comes on , What will YOU do? and don't say ring your call light for a coke.

For those of you who don't know her, this is Brianna. She is our neighbor and a part of our family. I watch Bri on my days off. She loves Daniella and Cass and they adore her. Everytime we are out together people tell me how much all 3 of my girls look alike. My neighbors are adopting her and it looks like it is almost finalized. Yeah!!!!

Daniella had a party this weekend (thank you Grammy) to celebrate her 14th b-day. Wow! I can't believe she's 14. I think everyone had fun. Check out the awesome cake made by my friend Tara. It tasted as good as it looks.
